Like a creator of words,Breathing the spark of a soulInto even the most trivial things;

Like a superpower in writing,Freely sketching outThe senses and images of a fleeting moment;

Like a writer’s imaginationDescribing the unknown worlds beyond reach —The Heaven and Hell envisioned by Dante;

Like a wizard of writingGiving perfect form to love and parting,Joy and sorrow, and the deep yearning of the people;

Like a sage of writing,Reaching beyond sensory descriptionTo unfold the inner abyss1) into infinite poetic thought;

Like an artist of writing,Unfazed by the critiques of others,Building a universe entirely one’s own;

EveryoneLongs to be a poet such as this,But in truth, there is no great secret.

If you are writing a poem right now,Then youAre already a poet.

1) Abyss : It refers to the profound and unfathomable depths of the human soul.
